Changes, everything changes

Dearest readers, did you already miss this author? I know, it’s been a while. This time I bring you what could be my last blog, I know gentle reader, this is a sad fact, but I will never forget you so let’s start with the music.

“Sometimes it’s good to be able to change. Some pieces to progress. We are the same with different skin. The witch of the West returns. If you trusted me more. You would know that I do it for you. To continue, sometimes something has to change. And open the window and ventilate.” (El aplauso herido - Mägo de Oz)

You may have noticed, dear reader, from the song that today’s topic is about changes, specifically about changes that could be made in my study program. In case you don’t remember, gentle reader, I am studying Biochemistry.

If I could, I would make many changes to my study program, starting with eliminating classes at 8:30 am, JAJAJA it’s a joke, but if you want it’s not a joke. Well, speaking seriously, I would improve the schedules of some subjects that end their classes at 7:20 pm, I find that it is a total aberration to have us until such hours in the university. For many students that means being practically out of their houses all day having to keep in mind that most start their classes at 8:30 am.

Regarding the Biochemistry curriculum and the academic load, I would change the semester in which some subjects are taught since there is at least one semester in which two of the most complicated subjects with the lowest passing rate are taught. Furthermore, a very specific change that I would make is that the subjects of Analytical Chemistry I and Analytical Chemistry II with their respective laboratories be taught in the same semester. In this way what was learned would be applied immediately and it would be much easier to understand the concepts. Although this is done with Organic Chemistry I and its laboratory, this teaching method is not very effective with this subject since the laboratory does not follow the same order of contents as Organic Chemistry I, however the other laboratories do follow the same order of content as their respective subject.

Finally, one thing that requires urgent attention from the faculty is the issue of infrastructure. It is necessary to add more rooms to hold classes since there are only 16 plus aula magna. In addition, it is urgent that another space be added or that the existing spaces for eating be expanded since when the weather is not good these places collapse. Added to this last issue, more chairs and tables are also necessary since many students must eat on the grass or in any other place due to the lack of these basic implements.

That would be all for today’s post dear reader. I hope you like it. See you never my gentle community of readers. Total thanks.

Yours Truly,

Sakin Povea M.

Don’t tamper with natural law

Dearest readers, did you already miss this author? Don’t worry, I will never forget you. Since I already know what they’re about, I won’t give it any more thought, and let’s start with the music. And let me warn you right now that there will be many songs in this post. “Time is a figment of my mind. And like my mind, time will disappear. And the sun that slips through my fingers. Is a time that passer through the years. Getting older is just in the mind. Still the same person that was, when I left my youth behind. And although my body aches when I wake. There’s still a lot to be lived, and I just can’t wait. ‘Cause the construct that is time is a figment of my mind. And like my mind, time will disappear.” (Time - Aidan Gallagher) I guess the song gave you a clue about today’s topic, and if you didn’t get it, gentle reader, let me tell you that you are losing your touch. Well, today’s topic is: Time to travel to the past or future. Before saying whether I prefer to travel to the past or...

To boarding: The pirate life is the best life

Hello my loyal readers. Today is a new blog day, and before we leave with today's topic, as always, we start with a song. “We are legion, we are passion. We are your dreams made of song. We are your voice and the heart. It only beats us if you want it. Two tibias and a skull. They draw the waves of the sea. I have death as my flag. And a guitar to fight.” (Al Abordaje - Mägo de Oz) And without further details, today's topic is the best concert ever. It was very difficult for me to decide which concert to choose as I have gone to several music festivals, some of them are "Rapa Makewe", "Womad" and "Festival Arte y Memoria Victor Jara". As they were festivals, I liked many of the bands, if not all, that were presented. My favorite singer and band, Luanko and Puel Kona, performed for several years at the "Rapa Makewe" festival, so choosing one of the two or one of their performances was impossible. That's why today I'm going to tell ...
