And without further details, today's topic is the best concert ever. It was very difficult for me to decide which concert to choose as I have gone to several music festivals, some of them are "Rapa Makewe", "Womad" and "Festival Arte y Memoria Victor Jara". As they were festivals, I liked many of the bands, if not all, that were presented. My favorite singer and band, Luanko and Puel Kona, performed for several years at the "Rapa Makewe" festival, so choosing one of the two or one of their performances was impossible. That's why today I'm going to tell you about the only concert I've ever been to, and it was by one band. And that was the concert of Mägo de Oz on his "Al Abordaje Tour”, which brought them to Chile presenting their most recent works: Ira Dei and Bandera Negra.
Before I talk about the concert, I'll tell you a little bit about Mägo de Oz. Mägo de Oz is a Spanish folk metal band founded in Madrid on July 7, 1988. Yeah, it’s quite old. Their musical style is mainly based on folk metal and Celtic music. Originally the band was called "Transilvania", in honor of their idols, the English band Iron Maiden; shortly thereafter they changed to the name by which it is known today. Established as one of the most recognized and important heavy metal bands in Spanish. The scenography of his concerts stands out, incorporating everything from pirate ships to medieval cathedrals, pyrotechnics, and several unpublished staging, as well as the broad lyrical themes of his compositions, which vary in background, whether romantic, historical, literary, pagan, fantastic or political and social criticism, often managing conceptual stories.
After that little summary about Mägo de Oz, let's go back to what the concert was. The concert was on December 17 of last year (2022) at the Teatro Caupolican. I bought the tickets on December 1st, literally none of the dates because I had to raise the money first. I was supposed to go alone because none of my friends likes Mägo de Oz, but on the day of the concert, I uploaded an Instagram story into the theater and a friend of a friend responded to the story by telling me that he was going too. As the two of us were alone, we got together in the court, which was the area we had bought, and we shared that crazy experience.
Being on the court was complete madness. People would jump, and hustle to each other and we almost ended up on the ground with so much emotion. I was so close to the stage that I felt I could almost touch the band members with my hands. Seeing them in front of me was exciting. Shouting and singing with all the people in the theater was simply magical. It was a sensation that I can't describe, you have to experience it to know what it feels like.
I enjoyed every second of the three hours the concert lasted. Being in that environment where you barely hear your voice through music and you can yell and jump anything you want is in a way liberating. You can do whatever you feel in the moment and no one judges you for it, you are free to express yourself as you wish. It's a unique feeling, and every concert I've attended has made me feel that way, in total freedom.

Wow, I think concerts sound wonderful, although I've never been to one. Based on what you're saying, they seem like a very memorable experience. I hope you get to attend many more soon.
