Dearest readers, did you already miss this author? Don’t worry, I will never forget you. Since I already know what they’re about, I won’t give it any more thought, and let’s start with the music. And let me warn you right now that there will be many songs in this post.
“Time is a figment of my mind. And like my mind, time will disappear. And the sun that slips through my fingers. Is a time that passer through the years. Getting older is just in the mind. Still the same person that was, when I left my youth behind. And although my body aches when I wake. There’s still a lot to be lived, and I just can’t wait. ‘Cause the construct that is time is a figment of my mind. And like my mind, time will disappear.” (Time - Aidan Gallagher)
I guess the song gave you a clue about today’s topic, and if you didn’t get it, gentle reader, let me tell you that you are losing your touch. Well, today’s topic is: Time to travel to the past or future.
Before saying whether I prefer to travel to the past or the future, let me tell you, dear reader, that Dr. Strange taught me that I should not play with time and natural law. “Mordo: Tampering with continuum probabilities is forbidden. Stephen: I was just doing exactly what it said in the book. Wong: What did the book say about the dangers of performing that ritual?. Stephen: I don’t know. I hadn’t gotten to that part yet. Mordo: Temporal manipulations can create branches in time. Unstable dimensional openings. Spatial paradoxes! Time loops! You wanna get stuck reliving the same moment over and over forever or never having existed at all?. Stephen: Really should put the warnings before the spell. Wong: Your curiosity could have gotten you killed. You weren’t manipulating the space-time continuum, you were breaking it. We do not tamper with natural law. We defend it.” (Doctor Strange - 2016)
An extra dialogue because I love Dr. Strange and it also talks about time. “Stephen: What are you doing. Come on, you’re dying! You have to return to your body now. You don’t have time. Ancient One: Time is relative. Your body hasn’t even hit the floor yet. I’ve spent so many years peering through time looking at this exact moment. But I can’t see past it. […] We don’t get to choose our time. Death is what gives life meaning. To know your days are numbered. Your time is short.”
Well, since I have to choose one of the two, I think I prefer to travel to the past because I would like to see how my Mapuche people lived before the damn invaders arrived to devastate everything in their path. “Mapuche is the poem. That the earth sings when the sun rises. Mapuche is the destination. That the road took away from us. The invader arrived. With shield and sword. Against stone and wood. Innocence poured out.[...] The dark earth cries. Asphyxiated by cement.” (Mapuche es el poema - Nancy San Martín, Tierra Oscura)

That would be all for today’s post my dear readers. I hope you like it. Today we will end with a song from my favorite singer. Which in case you didn’t notice, is Luanko.
“Kimün zew txepeli. Amutulay nütram faw akutuli. Fey muta ñi piwke purruki. Taiñ küme mongen weftuki. Pataka chi txipantü mongenfulu kuyfi mew. Taiñ chachay yem taiñ mapu mew. Tukulpaiñ taiñ wimtun mew. Küme piwke nieyiñ ñi ruka mew.” (Amupe - Luanko)
I’m going to leave you the official video of the song that has a translation. Plus, you’ll be able to hear the rhythm, which is very good.
If you're wondering why the writing of the lyrics in the video is different, it's because I like another script more, not the same one that Luanko uses.
Yours Truly,
Sakin Povea Millapi
