Don’t tamper with natural law

Dearest readers, did you already miss this author? Don’t worry, I will never forget you. Since I already know what they’re about, I won’t give it any more thought, and let’s start with the music. And let me warn you right now that there will be many songs in this post.

“Time is a figment of my mind. And like my mind, time will disappear. And the sun that slips through my fingers. Is a time that passer through the years. Getting older is just in the mind. Still the same person that was, when I left my youth behind. And although my body aches when I wake. There’s still a lot to be lived, and I just can’t wait. ‘Cause the construct that is time is a figment of my mind. And like my mind, time will disappear.” (Time - Aidan Gallagher)

I guess the song gave you a clue about today’s topic, and if you didn’t get it, gentle reader, let me tell you that you are losing your touch. Well, today’s topic is: Time to travel to the past or future.

Before saying whether I prefer to travel to the past or the future, let me tell you, dear reader, that Dr. Strange taught me that I should not play with time and natural law. “Mordo: Tampering with continuum probabilities is forbidden. Stephen: I was just doing exactly what it said in the book. Wong: What did the book say about the dangers of performing that ritual?. Stephen: I don’t know. I hadn’t gotten to that part yet. Mordo: Temporal manipulations can create branches in time. Unstable dimensional openings. Spatial paradoxes! Time loops! You wanna get stuck reliving the same moment over and over forever or never having existed at all?. Stephen: Really should put the warnings before the spell. Wong: Your curiosity could have gotten you killed. You weren’t manipulating the space-time continuum, you were breaking it. We do not tamper with natural law. We defend it.” (Doctor Strange - 2016)

Dr. Strange seeing 14.000.605 possible futures in the fight against Thanos in Avengers: Infinity War. The love of my life. Benedict Cumberbatch is just beautiful. Please contemplate the beauty in its maximum splendor.

An extra dialogue because I love Dr. Strange and it also talks about time. “Stephen: What are you doing. Come on, you’re dying! You have to return to your body now. You don’t have time. Ancient One: Time is relative. Your body hasn’t even hit the floor yet. I’ve spent so many years peering through time looking at this exact moment. But I can’t see past it. […] We don’t get to choose our time. Death is what gives life meaning. To know your days are numbered. Your time is short.”

Well, since I have to choose one of the two, I think I prefer to travel to the past because I would like to see how my Mapuche people lived before the damn invaders arrived to devastate everything in their path. “Mapuche is the poem. That the earth sings when the sun rises. Mapuche is the destination. That the road took away from us. The invader arrived. With shield and sword. Against stone and wood. Innocence poured out.[...] The dark earth cries. Asphyxiated by cement.” (Mapuche es el poema - Nancy San Martín, Tierra Oscura)

I apologize in advance, gentle reader, but I am not going to translate the words in Mapuzungun because as the song Tradición Oral by Luanko says “In Mapuzungun the translation is bad if you think in winkazungun”. If they make me learn English compulsorily, I will make them learn a little Mapuzungun. Wich in my opinion is more important and valuable than English. I am not going to apologize for what I just said, dear reader, because it is what I think and what I feel. I should be practicing and improving my Mapuzungun, but here we are.

“Our ancestors were ignorant. Ignorant of a world that exploits and is humiliating. But they were wise of our mongen. Our own world fill zungun, fenyentun ka newen” (Nos Hicieron Indios - Luanko)

I would like to travel to the time when only native peoples lived. I would like to be able to live the way they lived and learn more about my customs from the kuyfikeche, from the oral tradition. In case you didn’t know, my people transmitted kimün orally. It would be a great privilege for me to hear epew, piam, ngulam, nütram, and rakiduam from my kuyfikeche. “Where I learn the most is not watching TV. Fentxen zunguayiñ next to the stove feeling. Each word threaded and woven. Ancient strength give us life. The water is almost boiled, now you serve. Kiñe epew, kiñe ülkantun. We look for the kuyfi kimün next to the matetun” (Trawün Kütralwe Meu - Luanko)

The truth is that if you could travel back in time safely, I would stay in the past learning everything I can about my culture. I would like a papay to teach me how to weave on a loom and the entire process of obtaining natural wool. I would also like to learn the strategy of as many games as I can, like awarkuden, komikan, linao, kechukawe, mawmillan, and many others. I don’t know, there are many things I would like to do and learn from my kuyfikeche. “Aware of my stumble, I begin again. That is why I look for the trace. I learn from the kümeche, newenche, norche, kimche, tañi pu che fawpüle. Mulele feyentun chillkatunge tami kewun zungun enew. Feymu chillkatuken ngulam enew” (Ngvlam Enew - Luanko)

That would be all for today’s post my dear readers. I hope you like it. Today we will end with a song from my favorite singer. Which in case you didn’t notice, is Luanko.

“Kimün zew txepeli. Amutulay nütram faw akutuli. Fey muta ñi piwke purruki. Taiñ küme mongen weftuki. Pataka chi txipantü mongenfulu kuyfi mew. Taiñ chachay yem taiñ mapu mew. Tukulpaiñ taiñ wimtun mew. Küme piwke nieyiñ ñi ruka mew.” (Amupe - Luanko)

I’m going to leave you the official video of the song that has a translation. Plus, you’ll be able to hear the rhythm, which is very good.

If you're wondering why the writing of the lyrics in the video is different, it's because I like another script more, not the same one that Luanko uses.

Yours Truly,

Sakin Povea Millapi

To boarding: The pirate life is the best life

Hello my loyal readers. Today is a new blog day, and before we leave with today's topic, as always, we start with a song. “We are legion, we are passion. We are your dreams made of song. We are your voice and the heart. It only beats us if you want it. Two tibias and a skull. They draw the waves of the sea. I have death as my flag. And a guitar to fight.” (Al Abordaje - Mägo de Oz) And without further details, today's topic is the best concert ever. It was very difficult for me to decide which concert to choose as I have gone to several music festivals, some of them are "Rapa Makewe", "Womad" and "Festival Arte y Memoria Victor Jara". As they were festivals, I liked many of the bands, if not all, that were presented. My favorite singer and band, Luanko and Puel Kona, performed for several years at the "Rapa Makewe" festival, so choosing one of the two or one of their performances was impossible. That's why today I'm going to tell ...

Changes, everything changes

Dearest readers, did you already miss this author? I know, it’s been a while. This time I bring you what could be my last blog, I know gentle reader, this is a sad fact, but I will never forget you so let’s start with the music. “Sometimes it’s good to be able to change. Some pieces to progress. We are the same with different skin. The witch of the West returns. If you trusted me more. You would know that I do it for you. To continue, sometimes something has to change. And open the window and ventilate.” (El aplauso herido - Mägo de Oz) You may have noticed, dear reader, from the song that today’s topic is about changes, specifically about changes that could be made in my study program. In case you don’t remember, gentle reader, I am studying Biochemistry. If I could, I would make many changes to my study program, starting with eliminating classes at 8:30 am, JAJAJA it’s a joke, but if you want it’s not a joke. Well, speaking seriously, I would improve the schedules of some subjects th...
